5.9L Cummins 6BT / 6BTA
The Cummins 6BT and 6BTA engines are the most universal industrial and medium
duty diesel on the market, in fact, with over three million Cummins B Series
engines in operation around the globe. There is no question that these engines
are proven performers. Available in horse power ratings of 170 HP – 215 HP these
units are proven reliable power.
As part of the Xceptional Line of new surplus engines the 6BT and 6BTA 5.9L
engines we recognize reduced profit margins and no time for down time. That's
why every Cummins B series engine has been designed for reduced maintenance,
with plateau-honed cylinders, an innovative ring pack design and edge-molded
gaskets for significantly reduced oil consumption.
These OE Long Block Engines are complete with Valve Covers, Heads, Block, Oil
Pan and front gear cover. These 6BT and 6BTA engines will replace any 1988
through 1997.5 engines in industrial and automotive applications. Only
modification required is use of your current gear housing to accommodate rotary
or inline pump set ups.

injectors, turbo’s and injection pumps.

Cummins ISB
Nearly 45% of Dodge trucks sold the customers opt for diesel power. This is the
engine of choice for hauling and towing heavy loads. The 5.9 litre in-line six
cylinder engine has been completely redesigned with improvements ranging from an
all-new block to a new high-pressure, common rail fuel-injection and is now
available in regular and high-output versions.
The new high-pressure common rail fuel injection system uses pilot injection -
the injection of a small amount of fuel to start combustion - before the main,
power-producing fuel charge is injected. This has the effect of smoothing out
combustion pressure in the cylinder, which can be the primary source of low- and
mid-range speed noise in diesel engines.
The standard Cummins Turbo Diesel has 250 horsepower at 2,900 rpm (up from 235
horsepower at 2,700 rpm) and produces 460 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,400 rpm, while
the high-output version has an incredible 555 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,400 rpm and
305 horsepower at 2,900 rpm. It is the most powerful turbo diesel engine in the
heavy duty market and delivers a class-leading trailer towing rating (GCWR)of
10,433 kg (23,000 lbs). This truck can pull trailers (GTWR) weighing as much as
7,121 kg (15,700 lbs).
While being the engine of choice amongst performance and aftermarket dealers as
well as haulers and everyday users. The Cummins 5.9L engine is also the most
expensive to maintain and repair.
From a dealer a replacement ISB250, ISB305 or the latest ISB 325 can cost in
excess of $18,000.00 for a complete running unit. Fuel system replacements are
over $2500.00 for all the components and the Turbo’s sell for in excess of
